Support for individuals, couples and families

Isabel Camilleri offers warranted counselling at Vita Mea Clinic in Mosta. The pages below describe the work she does herself. The wider clinic also offers specialist therapy — including trauma work, EMDR, and support for children and teenagers — with other Vita Mea practitioners.

Individual counselling

Some people arrive with a clear name for what is wrong. Others only know that life has become heavier, smaller, or harder to recognise. Individual counselling with Isabel is a confidential, unhurried conversation — a place to make sense of anxiety, grief, burnout, or a transition that has left you unsure who you are now.

Sessions typically last 50 minutes and take place in person at the clinic. You do not need a diagnosis or a referral to begin. If you would like a one-to-one space, explore individual therapy at Vita Mea and ask to book with Isabel.

Couples and relationship therapy

Couples therapy is the heart of Isabel's practice. She has worked with distressed relationships for many years, and her Master's research asked a practical question: what actually helps couples change, here in Malta?

People come when the same argument will not end, when the house has gone quiet, when trust has been broken, or when a new baby, a move, or an illness has rearranged everything. They also come earlier — to prepare for marriage, parenthood, or a closer everyday life.

Isabel looks at the pattern between you, not at who is “the problem”. Both voices are held. The aim is clearer communication, quicker repair after conflict, and a relationship that feels like a team again.

Family and blended-family counselling

Families do not break in one moment. They fray — through new partners, loyalty binds, teenagers who have gone elsewhere, or old roles that no longer fit. Isabel works with family and blended-family dynamics, including co-parenting after separation.

The room is not a place to win. It is a place to be heard, to understand how each person is protecting themselves, and to find a way of living together that does not cost someone their dignity.

Family work at Vita Mea can include parents, children and teens when that supports the household. If a young person needs their own therapist, the clinic can match them with a colleague who specialises in child and adolescent work.

Anxiety and grief

Anxiety can look like panic, like a mind that will not switch off, or like a life organised around avoiding the next wave. Grief can look like tears, or like numbness, irritability, and the strange work of living with what is missing.

Isabel offers paced, compassionate counselling for both. There is no pressure to “move on” or to be more positive than you feel. The work is to understand what your nervous system and your heart are trying to do — and to find enough steadiness to keep going.

Vita Mea also has practitioners who focus on anxiety, depression, trauma and bereavement if a different approach would serve you better.

Corporate wellbeing

Work stress does not stay at work. Isabel offers organisational wellbeing support for teams and leaders who want more than a generic wellness talk: a serious look at burnout, communication, and the human cost of always being “on”.
